Whether you’re here for the weekend or staying a little longer, here are some of our favourite things to do in Byron.

Eat & Drink

In Town:

  • Highlife: Our fav local cafe (Mon - Fri)

  • Top shop: Classic/ hits the spot every time

  • Lightyears

  • Bang Bang

  • Japonaise kitchen - Tiny, casual and delicious. Definitely book ahead.

Something Fancy:

  • Bar Heather

  • The Belongil / Feu - New to Byron

  • Raes Dining Room

Just a drink:

  • Lobby Bar at The Bonobo - Grab a seat in the Lobby or out in the courtyard. Food is next level.

  • Marvell Rooftop

  • Rails Hotel - best pub in town

  • Raes Cellar Bar - Our favourite place for a sunset cocktail and a few snacks. Best oysters in Byron.

  • Mez club - order a Brookies Banger cocktail.

Industrial Estate:

  • Tones: Another great cafe in the industrial estate, grab a bite while shopping at St Agni, Jardan, Zulu & Zephr, etc.

  • Kouzina: Authentic Greek. BYO.

  • Stone & Wood Brewery: Classic box tick - go for wings and a flight one afternoon in the sun.

  • North Byron Hotel: Good & easy pub.

A bit further:

  • The Hut - One of my favourite dining experiences in Byron! Only open Thurs-Sun for lunch - book the last sitting so you can finish with a boogie, pending the crowd.

  • Ciao Mate - Yummy Italian in Bangalow, request a table in the terrace and have a drink at You Beauty before/after.

  • La Casita - Delicious Mexican in Brunswick Heads.

  • Eltham Pub - worth the journey

Beaches

  • Wategos Beach - finish with a cocktail at the Cellar Bar.

  • The Pass - great for a longboard - Hire one from Let’s Go Surfing.

  • Tallows Beach - More surfing. Cosy corner - great on a north-east wind.

  • Belongil Beach - walk down from main beach for a bit of exercise or park at Don street entrance. Dog friendly

  • Broken Head

  • Whites Beach - A little harder to get to, but worth the effort. Pack for the day.

Tip: If it's windy, check the wind direction before heading out - every beach is different.

Things to do

  • Farmers Markets on Thursday mornings: My favourite day of the week!! Don’t Miss:

    • Veal Schnitzels from the Beef&Pork Butcher

    • Strawberry Iced Matcha

    • Cinnamon Scroll and Sourdough from Sequel Bakery

  • Bay Grocer - Great produce and pantry staples.

  • Lighthouse Walk - We usually start at Clarkes Beach, walk via The Pass and Wategos, then pit stop for coffee from the Raes Coffee Van and a swim.

  • Comma - Book yourself a massage or spend a few hours in the bathhouse.

  • Juve Skin - Best facial experience in Byron Bay / Australia.
